Company Profile & History
BioQuadrant started out in the year 1999 as an organization focused on attaining product leadership in the field of specialty amino acids. Indeed, BioQuadrant was the first company ever to bring to market a set of beta-turn mimetics, as well as racemic and enantiomerically pure alpha- and gamma-substituted prolines. This unique product line was then expanded with the addition of novel building blocks, allowing researchers to create novel drug molecules for their research. Growing demand for chemistry-based drug development services by local biotech companies, however, transformed BioQuadrant in no time into a drug development CRO. A lean company structure, combined with operational excellence, top notch project management skills and a customer oriented focus resulted in BioQuadrant becoming a preferred partner for many public and private biotech companies, pharmaceutical companies, engineering firms, legal firms and government agencies. Service offering was expanded beyond drug discovery work, to include cGMP custom synthesis, formulation and analysis of experimental drugs (peptide mimetics and small molecules) according to the highest quality standards. We are proud to be able to say that we have initiated, planned, executed and closed nearly 100 projects covering a wide field of therapeutic indications.
The company operated out of the City of Biotechnology and Human Health of Metropolitan Montreal, Canada. In August of 2012, the company turned its focus to the distribution of small molecule libraries and building blocks for use in R&D. Its custom drug development services downsized, the company now leverages its expertise and experience by offering customized consulting services for all matters related to CMC (chemistry, manufacturing & controls).
